warmth

Warmth in Winter is the largest youth conference event of the year. As a connected church within the United Methodist denomination we take seriously the connections we have with other United Methodists in faith, beliefs, and practices. This event is a celebration of our lives with God & our Christian faith together with 2,000 other youth from around the middle Tennessee area.

HFUMC youth has roughly 80 youth & youth ministers that participate in this big event. With spirited worship, workshop sessions, play times, fellowship as a group, Youth Service Fund fund raising, Communion celebration, & simple fun hanging out in fellowship we have one of the best weekends of the year as a youth community.

We also encourage our youth to get involved with the design team process as part of their leadership development. From year to year we have around 10 - 15 youth and youth ministers involved in the designing and implementing of WnW.

WnW generally falls on one of the later weekends of January or early February. We stay downtown in one of the hotels. Most of the event takes place at the Nashville Convention Center with Sunday Worship being at TPAC (in the past it was at the Rhyman).

Warmth in Winter 2009!

I am even more Undignified that This!

A life following after the heart of God is not a life that is lived within 'the norm.' Come, worship/play/learn/pray/fellowship and grow as a person as we walk with King David & Jesus as they show us how following God makes one quite "UNDIGNIFIED."

Our Speaker is Tony Jones, who is super smart, but a little bit crazy. Don Washburn will be there doing crazy dances. 3 Mile Road will be leading us in music, which will be their last event as a band. We also will be blessed with some artisans and a drum group made up of some of our own umc youth.

This year Warmth in Winter is January 30th - February 1st. We will be staying as a group at the Renaissance Hotel. Departure time from HFUMC will be at 5pm, we will arrive and check into the hotel, then move down into event. This year's cost for Warmth in Winter is $125 dollars. This covers your rooming, food for regular meals, registration, the ride down and back. Estimated arrival home is at 12:30pm. Due date for registration is January 12th (money & forms, etc).

You will need to get signed up for workshops when those become available. We will need a health form on file for you as we go into the event.

Friends are always welcome on trips. We just ask that you bring them by a time or two before so they know a little of the rhythm of how we do things, plus we know a bit more of who they are.
