As a community set apart by Christ we take full knowledge that we are not just another community or school group but one that has a special bond, united in our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are looking for something different we hope you will consider being a part of our community. You may not be a believe in Jesus Christ, but you might be seeking. Through God's guidance & blessing we'd hope that you would feel compelled to bless us with your presence. No pressures or commitments, but there is a place for everyone.
what is the corner?
"THE CORNER"- NEW AND IMPROVING
Though still in transformation, our youth community has begun to reshape ourselves and our identity. Through our re-imagining project our youth space on the third floor has come to be know as "The Corner". The Corner is where we hang out, invite our friends, and learn about God. It’s where we find spiritual nourishment to worship, connect, grow, serve, and share.
With a year and a half behind us, we are moving right along in the re-imagining process. We started with the discernment process, which led to so much more in how we view being a ministry for the community inside and outside the church, than just how we use the different areas in our space. Throughout the re-imagining, the same five ideas kept coming up on what we would like to see "The Corner" become:
- The Corner is located at the heart of Hendersonville, so we strive to be the heart of the community by showing how God’s love lights the way.
- The Corner is a magnet for people of all ages. Our connection to the community draws people in to see who we are at HFUMC.
- The Corner provides an intimate worship space to witness God’s spirit. Our space energizes and brings life to smaller, more contemporary worship experiences.
- The Corner is a hip venue to appreciate the arts. It allows individuals and groups to strengthen and grow their talents through performance.
- The Corner is a place for youth to be in fellowship in a safe, loving, and non-commercial environment. Everyone feels welcome regardless of where they come from.
Over the coming weeks and months we, as a youth community, will be out in the church and the community sharing this vision more. We hope you will help support us to transform the future of our youth group and our space. Come find out more at the display table set up in the sanctuary lobby between Sunday services or find a youth group member.
